Boston Blues Challenge
As an affiliate of The Blues Foundation , The Boston Blues Society holds a yearly Blues Challenge. Winners of that event will represent the society in Memphis during The Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge which takes place Jan 13-17, 2026 in Memphis
By the rules of the IBC, affiliated Blues Societies' are required to stage a live regional preliminary IBC competition. The winner of that event represents the organization in the International Blues Challenge held annually in Memphis, TN along historic Beale Street.
We've fielded some questions and in a nutshell Blues and Blues sub Genres are allowed. Society Blues Challenge winners when in Memphis will be judged on musicianship, Originality & Stage Presence. Visit The IBC Blues challenge Rules Page for more details.
Also, to qualify as a youth act the performer(s) will all have to be under the age of 21 at the time of the International Blues Challenge in 2026 (Jan 13-17, 2026)
